  • Age - no matter what anyone says replacement of parts only creates other problems. Old folk can have knee replacement but no matter they will never run a marathon again. Same with old vehicles - replacing parts always ends with another problem found. Funny how replacement parts sometimes cost more than a new vehicle when its all added up. Good luck!!!

  • Rough deal. Back in the 1990's I had a 1971 Volkswagen Beetle that stopped running for no discernable reason. I had to leave it in the lot at work and come back for it later with a friend who knew how to work on them. The day I went back, it was raining, and I was not looking forward to major diagnostic work in the rain. Well, the dang car stated right up. I figured out, the second time the car died on me, that all I would need to do is pour about a gallon of tap water over the engine and it would start. Once it started, it kept running. After some actual troubleshooting, I found that the main solenoid had an internal crack that would sometimes, depending on vibrations when running, would end up with a gap that the spark could not bridge, but getting it wet filled that gap with water to allow enough conductivity to start. - I replaced the solenoid and no longer had to carry a gallon of tap water with me. But I did miss the looks I got when I would pour the water on the engine and then start the car. - But enough of my story, I hope it is not too expensive a fix!

I live with my parents because of a few situations. its ok i don't mind.

  • There are only a couple of states in the USA that have something like the MOT. Everywhere else you can drive the wheels off your vehicle and never be restricted by the government. Unfortunately, I live in a very restrictive state and have lost four perfectly good vehicles because they failed the draconian smog tests.

Thank goodness for the old white van as a back up vehicle. Today our car gave up the ghost, our brum brum had smoke coming out the engine and it'd cost hundreds to fix it. We have to scrap it and we only had it for 10 months 😢. Feeling ever so sad to be scrapping her (we call her a girl lol).

I know and understand its water damage and putting that in rice helps. im known for that and then don't work. I was living with my ex and he tried kicking me out, doesn't work . we were having table talk, and I was like heres his phone, I threw it on table and went into his uncles coffee cup and no splashes nothing and another guy living there is my ex bf step father and he said take everything apart and put in rice and works. Jamie needs a huge bag for that. lol. hey rice helps.
